There’s a proverb that says,
“If you wait for perfect conditions, you will never get anything done.”
In times like these, it’s easy to pull back and say the timing isn’t right. Or focus on trying to make things right.
I’ve also seen membership leaders hold back because…
…they wanted to have the perfect website.
…the membership site wasn’t perfect and needed more “engagement tools and badges.”
…they didn’t have the perfect name for their membership.
…they didn’t have the perfect marketing funnel.
…and countless other reasons to wait on perfection.
But here’s the real truth.
If you feel the answer to selling your membership is fancy graphics, cool logos, high-quality polished videos or “gamification” inside your membership site…
And that will somehow magically increase your sales…
I’ve yet to hear a member cancel their membership because of the quality of a video or the membership site wasn’t “fun.”
Instead I’ve seen multi-million dollar memberships built on simple platforms for under a hundred dollars a year, one page websites that are no more than an offer, videos shot on an iPhone or recorded on zoom – all very simple things to do.
Should you strive for perfection. Yes!
Should you wait for it. No!
“Perfection is doing the best with what you have.”
So, stop looking at all that you don’t have, all the ways “it could be better” and just start serving your members and prospects.
Do it now!
