What Are You Passionate About?

I like to ask this question, first and foremost, because nobody wants to create a membership around something they’re not passionate about.

I’m passionate about membership. I’m passionate about helping you expand your influence and grow your audience and gather those people inside a membership or coaching program.

What are you passionate about?

I want your membership business to revolve around your passions, because I’ve found that when it’s revolving around your passion, you actually develop a sense of purpose.

So what things are you passionate about? Write those down now!

I’ve had people go through this experience and say to me, “Well, I thought I was going to start a membership for these people. But after you asked me the question about what I was passionate about, I realized that I was actually passionate about these other people over here. And after I started going down that pathway, I discovered I could create an entirely brand-new coaching program over there. And it would be something that I’m truly passionate about.”

For example, Wendy Weber came to me wanting to start a coaching program. I asked her about the membership she wanted to start and how she would help people. She began to tell me all the ways she wanted to help people with their health and wellness.

However, when I asked her, “What are you most passionate about?” she lit up and told me about all the ways she’s helped parents who have a disabled child. Being a parent of a disabled child herself, she had a passion for helping others.

All of a sudden, there was a sense of purpose. By taking Wendy through this process, she uncovered all the ways she has already been helping others and all the ways she could serve even more parents through her coaching program.

You see, just like Wendy, you’ve developed plenty of skills and knowledge around things that you’re not passionate about. But by understanding the answer to the question of what you are passionate about, you will likely discover that you have additional skills and knowledge focused specifically around that passion.
