You may be asking: “What about my membership site? How do I even set something like that up?”
Many people believe that to launch their membership, they need to have a membership site set up first. That’s not true.
As a matter of fact, one of my clients is soon launching a new membership – and the membership site itself isn’t going to be ready for another three weeks. But she’s already selling people into the program.
You don’t have to have everything in line before you make it happen. Don’t let the tech get in the way. All too often people get stuck and let technology barriers prohibit them from actually starting their membership.
Consider this. I launched a membership back in 2009, back when Facebook was just getting started and before there were Facebook groups, Facebook ads, or any of that. There wasn’t even such a thing as a membership site. I mean, it just didn’t exist.
If I was able to launch a membership before membership sites and Facebook groups existed, then you can do it as well.
You might be saying, “Well Scott, times are different. We do have Facebook groups. We do have membership sites. People kind of expect that.”
Not always. They may expect it to happen at some point, but it doesn’t have to be immediately.
Let’s make a commitment to start simple. Don’t get stuck in the tech. Don’t think you have to have everything all together. Just make it very simple. I know some who have delivered their membership content via email, with only links in the email to a training video or resource or bonuses. With just little links sent via email, they have provided significant value to their members.
Start simple. Allow your membership site to grow with your membership. People don’t necessarily expect everything to already be in place.
